The official language of the 2011 Infectious Diseases Congress  is English.

During the entire meeting, attire will be informal.

Australian Eastern Standard Time is GMT plus 10 hours.

Currency & Taxes

The Australian Dollar ($) is the official national currency. All major credit cards are accepted. A 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is incorporated into the price of all goods and services sold in Australia, except some basic items. International tourists may be eligible for a GST refund on some goods bought in Australia. www.customs.gov.au

Visa

All travelers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are required to obtain a Visa to travel to Australia. The Business Visa allows people attending conferences and meetings in Australia to make a short visit of up to three months. Australia's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is the world's most advanced and streamlined travel authorization system. If the country your passport represents has ETA Business Access, it enables visitors to Australia to obtain authority to enter at the same time as they book their travel arrangements. In addition, a recent innovative enhancement to ETA arrangements allows a traveler to apply for an ETA over the Internet. www.immi.gov.au

Letter of Invitation

Upon request, the Secretariat of the 7th World Congress of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases will send a personal invitation to participants. This invitation is meant only to help visitors to raise travel funds or to obtain a Visa, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support.

CME Accreditation

CME Accreditation will be applied for. Please refer to the WSPID 2011 congress website for updates.

Liability & Insurance

The Symposium Secretariat and organizers cannot accept responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the meeting. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.

 

Transportation

Melbourne offers City Tourist Shuttle and the City Circle tram to delegates as options for free transport in the city.
