World Stroke Day is an excellent opportunity to increase awareness of stroke, and action that can be taken against it. Activities to promote the World Stroke Day message may include campaigns for the general population, press releases, communication with government and/or community activities.
The World Stroke Day Awards recognizes efforts of people, communities, health professionals and workplaces that encourage, support, and promote awareness of stroke and actions taken that could prevent, treat and improve the quality of life for people who have had stroke. Awards will be granted to individuals, scientific associations and stroke support groups.
Winners will be awarded a certificate and receive a one year membership to the World Stroke Organization.
More information about the WSO World Stroke Day 2010 Awards will be communicated in the coming weeks.
