Opening Ceremony & Welcome Reception
An Opening Ceremony “Broadway Opens to the World” followed by a Welcome Reception will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 17:30 hours in the Hilton New York.
Language
The official language of the WIP pain congress is English.
Trade Exhibition
An exhibition by pharmaceutical companies and bookshops will take place within the framework of the congress. Participants will be encouraged to visit and interact with exhibitors especially during breaks and poster viewing time.
Visa
Participants are requested to check with the American consulate or diplomatic mission in their home country or with their travel agency for visa requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. United States Authorities require a valid visa for at least 6 months from date of entry.
Letter of Invitation
Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be posted on this website for participants’ use. This invitation is meant only to help visitors to raise travel funds or to obtain a visa, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support.
Insurance
The Congress Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to private property of participants, students and accompanying persons, either during or indirectly arising from the 5th World Congress of the World Institute of Pain. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
Climate
The weather in New York in March can be rainy, but for the most part sun will shine, and temperatures stay above freezing. Temperature in March ranges between 7-15°C (45-60°F).
Clothing
During the entire congress, attire will be casual.
