Changdeokgung Palace is surrounded by trees and abuts a wooded hillside on the northern fringe of Seoul. Its each building changed its axis according to natural geographical position and was arranged to be hugged by cozy valley. By almost everyone's estimation, Changdeok is the most beautiful and best preserved among Seoul's half dozen palaces.

Namsan Hanok Village, Five traditional Korean houses, including houses of commoners, and the residences of high government officials- owners of the eight largest mansions in Seoul- were moved onto a 7,934 square-meter lot of land. The size of each house and style of furnishing is representative of the social status of their owners, allowing visitors to view for themselves how the people of that era lived.

National Museum of Korea holds a collection of approximately 150,000 works of art. The museum holds permanent collections of ancient artifacts, historical artifacts, works of art, donations, and Asia related cultural artifacts. Bukchon Hanok Village, the residential area for high circles constructed in Joseon Dynasty, which had not been changed that much until 1920s, has been changed its urban construction in modern style in 1930s, according to the extension of administrative boundary of Seoul City. Even though these small hanoks may lack elegance compared with big ones with quality of cultural assets, the beauty of alleys with concentrated-small hanoks is valuable as a symbol of the city’s historic sight.

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, located in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do Province, constructed as an act of filial devotion by Jeongjo, the 22nd king of the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910), and to strengthen his power, eradicate party conflict, and fortify the southern area of the capital. During construction, equipment such as the Geojunggi, a type of traditional Korean crane, and potters’ wheels were developed and used to transport and assemble large stones.

Korean Folk Village offers a unique glimpse into Korea's past. Here in a reconstructed farmhouse, residences of the nobility and other buildings of several centuries ago, a flourishing community of potters, millers, blacksmiths, pipe-makers and other craftsmen continue to work as Korean ancestors did.

Mt. Seoraksan, also called Mt. Seolsan and Mt. Seolbongsan, was named Seorak because the snow does not melt for a long period of time and its rocks stay white like snow. In November 1965, the Seoraksan Mountains district was designated as a Natural Monument preservation area. Afterwards in December 1973, it was designated as a park preservation area and in August 1982 as a Biosphere Preservation District by UNESCO.
