Welcome Letter

On behalf of the Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders, I want to invite you to participate in the XIX World Congress on Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders that will take place in exciting Shanghai in December 2011.

This Congress will provide the latest research and update on the etiology, pathogenesis, potential diagnostic markers and treatment modalities of Parkinson’s Disease and its related disorders. We expect an attendance of an overwhelming number of participants, bringing together a large faculty of distinguished scientists, clinicians and allied health experts with a wide range of expertise in this field. The Association is a supporter of the One China Policy and welcomes both Chinese and International participants.

Shanghai is the largest and most dynamic city in China with an extremely vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

It is the main financial centre of China. Its exhilarating nightlife is amongst the best in Asia, with a huge variety of nightspots. The wide range of restaurants available in Shanghai will ensure that all palates will be catered for.

The city provides a varied selection of accommodation to suit all budgets. The new Pudong International Airport offers optimal connections within China, Asia and to the rest of the world. In December, the weather in Shanghai is usually cool, sunny and comfortable.

I hope that you will take time to enjoy the attractions of this metropolis as part of your Congress experience, and maybe also the rest of China, with its rich history.
