EASL's aim is to support Young Investigators and help them attend the International Liver CongressTM 2010.
In order to achieve the above, EASL offers 2 types of bursaries to the presenting authors only of the best accepted abstracts who are aged 35 or under and are still in training.
The application is available to anyone fulfilling the above criteria, without geographical restrictions!
FULL BURSARIES
200 bursaries of Euro 650 each will be attributed to the presenting author of the best 200 scored abstracts.
This bursary will be handed out by cheque during the International Liver CongressTM 2010.
In addition, the registration fees to the congress will be waived.
REGISTRATION BURSARIES
Presenting authors of the remaining best accepted abstracts answering the same criteria as mentioned above will have their registration fees waived.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Bursary request must be made on the abstract form during the abstract submission only.
Preliminary requests received after the abstract submissions will not be considered.
- The name of the presenting author MUST match the name of the applicant.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION UPLOAD INSRUCTIONS:
The following supporting documentation must be in English and are to be uploaded via this webpage by clicking on the appropriate link below, either as BMP, GIF,JPEG or PDF documents (size limit 1 MB), after abstract submission but not later than December 21, 2009.
1. Proof of age (clear copy of ID indicating date of birth)
2. Proof of trainee status (letter signed by head of department confirming that you are a trainee)

Deadline for receipt of documents is December 21, 2009
- EASL will automatically decline all bursary requests that do not conform to the above terms.
- Confirmations of the type of bursary granted will be sent out by February 8, 2010.
- Confirmed bursary applicants will automatically be registered to the congress
(No payment of registration fees is required)
- Name changes of presenting authors (different than at the time of the abstract submission) will be accepted only if made at the time of the submission of the proof documentation.
EASL is willing to assist certain participants with an accepted paper, from resource-limited countries, who encounter financial difficulties to attend the International Liver CongressTM 2010. Further details can be obtained by contacting the EASL Office, IN WRITING ONLY, after the abstract selection has been officially announced.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
EASL will grant the above bursaries only to those presenting authors who will attest that they are not being sponsored or covered by any other source in order to attend The International Liver CongressTM 2010.
