The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
Registration & Accommodation
All participants must submit a completed registration form. Hotel accommodation at special congress rates will be offered to participants.
Climate
Vienna’s climate is continental with moderate temperatures. The average April temperature in Vienna ranges between 6ºC-15ºC. Days are moderately cool and rainfall is possible.
Time Zone
The time zone in Vienna is Central European Time (CET) (GMT +1 hour), and six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Airport Information and Travel to Vienna
Vienna International Airport is located 20km from downtown Vienna and can be reached by the following means of transportation:
City Airport Train is an express train service to Vienna’s city centre (“Landstrasse – Wien Mitte”). The journey takes 16 minutes and trains leave every 30 minutes. (single ride 9 Euro, round trip 16 Euro).
Airport City Train (Schnellbahn Line S 7) is a direct train service to Vienna’s city centre (“Wien Mitte”). The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. (Two-zone ticket costs 4.40 Euro).
Vienna Airport Lines Express bus service connects the city with Vienna International Airport. Buses leave in front of the arrival hall and bring passengers to the city centre (“Schwedenplatz”). Service runs every day every 30 minutes from approx. 06:00am until midnight. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Tickets are available for purchase on the bus. (single ride 6 Euro, round trip 11 Euro).
Taxis are available outside the arrival hall level 1. The journey to the city centre takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately Euro 35.

Public Transportation in the City
Vienna offers a well-developed, efficient and modern public transportation network of underground lines, trams, buses and metropolitan railway (Schnellbahn)
Vienna public transport is part of the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region VOR (transport association for Austria's eastern regions). Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region is split into eight zones and includes parts of Lower Austria, the Burgenland and all of Vienna. The city of Vienna accounts for one full zone or core zone (Kernzone or "Zone 100"). A single ticket is valid for travelling one way in one zone. You may change to different lines in the course, but you may not interrupt your journey.
Daily/Weekly network tickets for travel on underground, tram and bus can be purchased from tobacconists, Wiener Linien sales counters and the vending machines at all underground stations. For more details on ticket types and prices, please refer to: www.wienerlinien.at
Visa Requirements
Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local Austrian Embassy / Consulate for full and official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa in advance if required.

Badges
All participants, accompanying persons and exhibitors are kindly requested to wear their badges throughout the congress in order to be admitted to the lecture halls and other scheduled activities.

Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of attendance will be available for all participants at the registration desk from Friday, April 16.
Official Letter of Invitation
A personal letter of invitation may be downloaded from this website. Please refer to the "Invitation Letter" tab on the "General Information" drop-down menu at the top of this page. Alternatively, upon request, the Congress Secretariat will send a personal invitation to participate. This invitation is meant only to assist participants to raise travel funds or to obtain a visa and is not a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide any financial support. Applications for invitation letters must be received at least 30 days prior to the Congress.
CME Accreditation
EASL 2010 has applied for CME Accreditation.Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Updated information regarding CME accreditation will be available on this website as it becomes available.
Food and Beverages
Business lunches and coffee/tea during breaks (as indicated in the programme), are included in the registration fee.
Safety and Security
Please do not leave bags or suitcases unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls. Hotels strongly recommend that you use their safety deposit boxes for your valuables.
Banking and Exchange
The official currency in Austria is the Euro (€).
Both Euro and foreign currency may be brought into and taken out of Austria without limitation.
All banks apply the same official exchange rate of the day, exchange counters at railway stations and airports charge an additional commission. Stores, hotels and restaurants accept payment in foreign currencies at a slightly lower rate of exchange.
Official banking hours in Vienna are generally Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 15:00 and on Thursdays 8:00 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Exchange offices at Vienna airport and major city rail terminals are open seven days a week from 8:00 to 20:00.
Automated cash dispensers are located outside most banks and cash can be withdrawn 24 hours a day.
All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
Opening Hours of Places of Interest
Museums, art galleries, castles and chateaux are open from Tuesday until Sunday 10:00 to 17:00 (Closed on Mondays).
Opening Hours of Shops
Shops are generally open from 9:00 until 18:00 Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays the stores close at either 12:00 noon or 17:00. Shops are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Liability and Insurance
The organiser is not able to take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
Exhibition
A commercial and industrial exhibition will take place within the framework of the congress.
