ICS International Continence Society Meeting, 2010

Welcome letter

Dear Friends,

What a pleasure it is to invite you all to join us at the ICS/IUGA Joint Annual Meeting in Toronto in 2010.

Toronto is a place where inspiring ideas converge and where original thought and innovation are celebrated. With that in mind the inspiration for this meeting is “Advancing Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Research and Treatment”.

Toronto is the largest city in Canada and the fifth largest in North America making this thriving multi-cultural city a venue not to be missed. Toronto has a rare openness, energy and style. Toronto celebrates the power of the collective, the coming together of great minds and sharing ideas. What better place to host a joint meeting between two highly influential societies.

The Joint ICS-IUGA Annual Meeting takes place every five years and for members of both societies and regular participants of the respective Annual Meetings, the format remains very similar. The meeting begins with two days of Educational Courses and Workshops and society meetings.

The scientific programme then begins from day three and includes abstract podium and poster presentations, state of the art lectures, roundtable discussions, meet the expert sessions plus much more.

You will be treated to the usual ICS and IUGA traditions with a wonderful Welcome Reception at the Liberty Grand. Enjoy theluxury and elegance of the 1900’s Renaissance style building, meet new and re-kindle old friendships.

Lester B. Pearson International airport is within easy access to downtown Toronto and has major direct connections throughout the world. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is also downtown nestled amongst shops, hotels, theatres and restaurants. Obviously we encourage you to stay and see more of Toronto and the surrounding areas. Not for the faint hearted is the CN Tower, but if you are looking for something a little more relaxing why not try a boat trip on Lake Ontario.

Only 90 minutes away is the fabulous Niagara Falls, not to be missed.

On behalf of the ICS and IUGA we welcome you to Toronto and we look forward to seeing you in Toronto in August 2010.

Harold Drutz and Sender Herschorn
