DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: January 14, 2011

Submitters are invited to present the outcome of their research at the 4th Congress of European Microbiologists – FEMS 2011. Abstracts should be submitted via this website only. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 and have the format:
- Background
- Objectives
- Methods
- Conclusions
- References (if available)
There are three different types of abstract submission as follows:
1. Workshops
Over the course of the Congress there will be 20 workshops. Each workshop will consist of presentations by the two chairpersons (who will also act as speakers) and two presentations selected from submitted abstracts.

2. Special Poster Discussion Groups
Special Poster Discussion Groups will be scheduled on selected highly topical issues. These sessions will offer young scientists a unique opportunity to present and discuss interim results of high importance.
3. Poster Presentations
Throughout the Congress there will be poster sessions scheduled covering all areas of microbiology addressed by this Congress. To view topics for Poster Presentations and Special Poster Discussion Groups click here.
Submissions marked Workshops or Special Poster Discussion Groups not accepted for either of these types will be considered for poster presentation. Authors will be notified regarding abstract acceptance. Accepted abstracts will be included in the CD of abstracts that will be distributed at the Congress.
