ACCEPTED SYMPOSIA
These 90 minute sessions will focus on specific topics in psychiatry, representing several points of view. The pre sentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee from those proposed following the instructions contained in this announcement.
These will include a maximum of five papers and time for discussion at the end of
the session.
All participants must have formally agreed to participate prior to submission of
the proposal. The chairperson will announce the participants with the electronic
submission of the symposia and will also ask them to submit their abstracts
electronically via the Congress website:
www.kenes.com/epa. It is highly
desirable that a Symposium comprises no more than two speakers from the same
nationality.
All members of the faculty of a session should be self-financed. The EPA does not
provide any funding for the organisation of Accepted Symposia.
Section Symposia
These sessions have the same format as the other Symposia but are proposed by the EPA Sections.
Workshops
The Core Workshops will be devoted to a specific topic and will bring together
experts in this field for an intensive discussion.
The presentations will be invited by the Scientific Committee of the Congress.
Accepted Workshops
The Accepted Workshops will be devoted to a specific topic and bring together
experts in this field for an intensive discussion.
These will be 90 minute working sessions. At least 50% of the time will be devoted to discussion. Workshops can have one or more speakers. Only one abstract is required for the whole workshop (no abstracts of individual presentations are needed).
The presentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee from those proposed
following the instructions contained in this announcement.
All participants of a workshop should be self-financed. EPA has no funds available
for sponsoring all or part of a workshop.
Some workshops can be organised by national psychiatric societies in their local
language.
Specific Research Workshops
Specific Research Workshops will be workshops aimed specifically at scientists. These will be 90 minute working sessions allowing detailed discussions on scientific topics.
The presentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee. Some Workshops will be invited by the Scientific Committee.
YOUNG PSYCHIATRISTS Meet the Expert SesSions
The Meet the Expert Sessions are designed to primarily target psychiatrists of the younger generation. In these sessions, leading figures of European Psychiatry will interact freely with a group of about 100 psychiatrists.
During each session, a young psychiatrist will introduce the expert by outlining the main stages of his scientific and professional career.
After this introduction, the participants will be invited to interact freely with the expert. The interaction will primarily focus on the expert’s research interests and professional experience as well as on perspectives for future research.
Those interested in participating in these sessions should pre-register (at no extra cost).
Pro & Con Debates
Pro & Con Debates will focus on controversial issues in mental health care.
Each Debate will consist of two antagonistic formal presentations, followed by a general discussion and possibly a formal vote on the issue discussed during the debate.
Posters
Authors are invited to present their new research findings or important ongoing research as posters related to one of the 29 given topics. There is no limitation concerning the number of presented posters. The posters should be categorised.
The most interesting posters will be combined by topics and will participate
in the poster walks.
Sponsored posters will also get good visibility.
The Best Posters will be awarded Poster Prizes during the Congress.
Sponsored events
Satellite Symposia
Satellite Symposia will be organised by pharmaceutical companies in consultation with the Scientific Committee.
