Scientific Programme

The EPA 2012 Scientific Programme will be composed of five main tracks:

Research Track – will compose of sessions with a focus on current research trends in psychiatry.  Among the Research Track you will find Symposia, Debates, and State of the Art sessions.

Clinical / Therapeutic Track –will offer participants updated, state of the art, clinical and therapeutic information which is based on research but linked to daily practice. Among the Clinical /Therapeutic Track you will find Symposia, Updates, Debates and Workshop session

Education Track – the sessions in this track will provide an update on developments in the field and provide an opportunity for exchanges of ideas between participants and speakers. Among the Educational Track, you will find the CME Academia Courses and Update Sessions. 

European Track - the sessions in this track will deal with common issues for psychiatrists from across Europe, and will therefore be of particular interest for members of the National Psychiatric Associations.

ECP Education Track – the sessions in this Track are the sessions of the Early Career Psychiatrists’ Programme.

Plenary Sessions

The Plenary Lectures have a strong scientific focus and are mainly theoretical and research-oriented. These lectures will be delivered by leading psychiatrists, basic scientists and other mental health professionals invited by the Scientific Committee. These 45 minute lectures, will cover the major topics of the Congress theme.

Debates will be offer a lively and fruitful discussion on controversial issues. A chairperson will moderate whilst two speakers (one pro and the other con) will offer and challenge opinions on different subjects.
