The changing world of stroke

Chairperson and speaker:
Vladimir Hachinski, London, ON, Canada

Our understanding of stroke has changed radically with the realization that the commonest types of stroke are subclinical, and their earliest manifestations are changes in executive cognitive function.

The collaboration of all the major organizations dealing with stroke, in proclaiming a World Stroke Day and a global agenda, is changing awareness about stroke and leading to more concerted efforts to combat it.

The growing sophistication of imaging and the beginning of genome wide association studies promise new insights and fresh approaches in the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of stroke.

In the setting of an ancient patrician residence, in fact a post lodge, you will be able to enjoy typical cuisine from Geneva.

The Société des Vieux-Grenadiers counts 260 years of existence. At the time, they represented the elite of the trustee guard and inaugurated a “club” to enjoy leisurely activities such as drinking wine, play cards and petanque.

Access to Restaurant Les Vieux Grenadiers:

92 rue de Carouge
1211 Genève

From Cornavin train station: Tram 13 and 14, stop Augustins
