AIRPORT INFORMATION
Lisboa International Airport, located 6 kilometres from the city centre and about 20/30 minutes drive from Estoril, is served by all major international airlines from all over the world. Lisboa International Airport is the principal point of entry for travellers arriving in Portugal.
The Airport has two different halls, the Departure Hall and the Arrivals hall, both internally connected.
Transportation from the Airport to the City Center
TAXIS
There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and the other at departures.
The fare on the taxi meter should read Euro 2.50 (daytime pick-up).
Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometre (km=0,42).
Euro 1.60 is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals. Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare.
An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for night-time service from 9pm to 6am.
Taxi Vouchers may be purchased at the Tourism Information Counter in the airport's Arrivals Hall.
AERO BUS
Aero bus Number 91 – makes the run between Lisbon Airport and the city centre where the majority of hotels are based.
Service begins at 07:45 and ends at 20:15 hours. Buses depart every 20 minutes.
The ticket may be purchased from the driver upon boarding the bus.

Climate
Lisbon falls within both Atlantic and Mediterranean climatic zones. As a result, there is little variation in temperature. Skies are clear and days are usually sunny, even during winter. Average temperatures in September range from 17-27°C (62-80°F).
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
An enjoyable social programme is planned for the participants. It will include:
Opening Ceremony followed by the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, 9 September.
Gala Dinner (optional) on Friday, September 11.
VISA
Please check with your travel agent whether you require an entry visa to Portugal.
LETTER OF INVITATION
An official invitation letter to assist with visa or administrative procedures is posted on the
Congress website for participants’ use. Please note that this letter can in no way be regarded as a commitment regarding scheduling or financial support from the Congress Organizers.
LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
The organizer is not able to take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the Congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
FINANCIAL AID
Euro 25,000 will be budgeted for financial aid to applicants from low resource and currency restricted countries. The aid will include accommodation and possible help in costs towards travel and daily expenses. Applications should be forwarded to the congress organizer, together with the registration form and a copy of the applicant's submitted abstract/s.
