The official language of the Symposium is English.


During the entire meeting, attire will be informal.


The weather in Florence in March is unpredictable, but generally rainy, with an average temperature range of 4-14ºC.


The Euro (€) is the official national currency. All major credit cards are accepted.

Airport Information & Travel to Florence

The international airport 'Amerigo Vespucci', is located in the north-west suburban area of Florence. There are many airlines arriving there and connecting the city to some of the most important European airports. The airport is only 4 km from the city centre, which can be easily reached by taxi or with the Ataf/Sita 'Vola in Bus' shuttle service (around 15/20 minutes), connecting the airport to the main central railway station of Santa Maria Novella.

By Train: The main central railway station of Santa Maria Novella (one of the most important railway junctions as well as an interchange point of the Florence public transportation) is located just a few steps (2 minutes on foot) from the main entrance of the congress-exhibition area and from the main reception of Firenze Fiera, located on the ground floor of Palazzo degli Affari.

By Car: Florence is well connected to the main Italian cities through an efficient motorway network, which allows an easy access to the city centre, where the congress and exhibition centre is located.


Some participants may require an entry visa for Italy. Participants are requested to consult the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their home country or with their travel agency for specific details relating to visa requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required.

Letter of Invitation

Participants requiring a formal letter of invitation, to enable them to make their arrangements, should contact the Secretariat.  It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help delegates to raise funds or to obtain a Visa and does not imply a commitment from the Symposium organizers to provide any financial support or scheduling of presentations.

CME Accreditation

As in previous symposia a CME Application will be made. Please refer to the Symposium website for updates.

Liability & Insurance

The Symposium Secretariat and organizers cannot accept responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the meeting. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
