Dear friends,
Shalom! !שלום Hola! Bonjour! Здравствуйте! Ciao! Grüß! Allo!
No matter what language you speak, when it comes to the World Union and its international convention, we are all one family.
At every convention, our programs and delegates increase in number and diversity, and our convention committee and staff are preparing an event for 2009 that we anticipate will shatter all past records.
We most warmly invite you to join us for this unique international gathering.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of Tel Aviv, the first modern Hebrew city in the heart of Israel, we will for the first time hold some of our convention programs based around the thriving community centers of Beit Daniel and Mishkenot Ruth Daniel. We will also spend some of convention time in and around Jerusalem, home of the World Union’s headquarter offices and the soul of our religious movement.
Throughout the convention, through personal stories and meaningful events, we will explore the history and the future of building the Jewish state and examine our role as Diaspora Reform Jews in that mission. We will also discuss and affirm Israel’s central role in the lives of our Reform families around the world.
We are extremely excited about the premiere of this convention Web site, another first for the World Union. You will find it to be a rich source of information for everything about the convention, including a user-friendly online registration process. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, just contact us.
Enjoy your visit to this site, and check back often for news and updates. We hope you will accept our invitation, and look forward to welcoming you onsite in Israel for CONNECTIONS 2009!
