You will explore three very different and interesting places during a walk about in the city’s bustling flower market, a serene Buddhist temple and what is claimed to be the world’s biggest jewelry store. The museum contains an 18th century palace and a group of histori­cally important buildings that house Thailand’s artistic treasures from prehistoric to contemporary times. On this escorted tour knowledgeable guides will introduce you to musical instru­ments, pottery and weapons dating back to the 18th century and the famed Ban Chiang ceramics (5600–2250 BC). A short walk, boat trip and road transfer brings you to Vimarnmek Palace, the favorite residence of King Chulalongkorn, the world’s largest building made entirely of golden teak wood. The palace was built by King Rama V at the turn of the century and now serves as a museum. The many gifts presented to the Kings by foreign envoys and heads of state are on display. Palace Admission Policy:
Shoes, handbags and camera (still and video) are not allowed in the building and have to be left in the locker provided. 
Photography (still and video) is allowed within the palace compounds.  It is prohibited within the main building of the palace.

The Dress Code on this tour is important.  Participants should note that the venue is a national royal residence and everyone will be required to wear proper attire (no bear shoulders, knees or strapless-heel shoes).   Shoes must be removed before entering the main building as a matter of respect.

As 95% of Bangkok residents are Buddhist there are more than 400 wats (wat means temple) in the city. On this tour you will see three of the most remarkable – the Golden Buddha Temple which houses a solid gold statue weighing 5.5 tonnes; the reclining Buddha statue at Wat Po with its enormous gold-covered Buddha image lying majestically on its side and the Marble Temple, Wat Benchamaborpit, representing one of the finest examples of Thai temple architecture.

Built in 1782 by King Rama I, the Palace is a venue for state and religious functions. Within the Palace compounds you will be able to enter the interior chamber of Wat Phra Kaew – Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which houses Thailand’s most revered Buddha image, carved from a single piece of jade and believed to be the protector of the Kingdom.

Bangkok Historic Homes

Visit ‘The House by the Klong’ - the home of Jim Thompson, the ‘Father of Thai Silk’. Jim Thompson’s House was built in traditional teak wood style. Jim Thompson, an American, came to Thailand at the end of the Second World War and revived the Thai silk industry. His unexplained disappearance in the Malaysian jungle remains a mystery to this day.

The house, now a museum, displays his valuable collection of Thai and other Asian art such as benjarong multi-colored porcelain). Proceed next to the private residence of Mom Rajawongse (M.R.) Kukrit Pramoj, famous statesman, Prime Minister of Thailand during 1974-1975 and artist. M.R. Kukrit Pramoj passed away in 1995 at the age of 84. His life was very colourful as he was a man of many talents and excelled in the field of the arts. His house is located down a small back-street alley inside a walled garden covering 2 acres.

Colors of Bangkok – Cycling Tour

“Colors of Bangkok” is a 4-5 hour bicycling tour through the metropolis Bangkok. The trip is about 25 – 30 KM long and the distance traveled can be adjusted to the condition of the participants.  Every healthy person who is able to ride a bicycle can join this trip. During this trip, which holds a maximum of 8 people per group only, participants get to see the huge differences this metropolis has to offer.  We will visit a local Buddhist temple complex, a sweatshop making sandals or other items, take a short boat trip across the Chao Praya river in a longtail boat, see not only luxurious villa’s and apartments but slum houses and the people living there as well, see an open-air Muay Thai school (kick boxing), a Burmese style (Mon) built Chedi, a local elementary school, ride through the greenest area of Bangkok and recognize the plants, you might have at home, only here they are bigger. During the trip we will stop about every hour to rest and to provide you drinking water or a soft drink.

Bicycles used are all imported, U.S. designed, 21 speeds, full suspension mountain bikes.

Fascinating, nostalgic and memorable sums up this day tour to Kanchanaburi province. The famous bridge and the beginning of the 'Death Railway' is a poignant reminder of the thousands of POW’s and forced laborers who lost their lives in the Second World War during the construction works of the railway. Transfer from your hotel in Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum, an interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway.

After a visit to the War Cemetery, enjoy a scenic long-tail boat trip along Maeklong River to the famous Bride over the River Kwai. Damnern Saduak Floating Market & Rose Garden

Meet in the hotel lobby and board a minivan or motor coach for a journey through the Thai countryside to Ratchburi province, 110kms outside of Bangkok. At a boat landing we board narrow long-tail speedboats for an exhilarating 15-minute ride along narrow canals to the unique market, passing by riverside villages and fruit plantations. At the colourful market, vendors from wooden canoes sell their local produce. The small boats carry a variety of goods - bananas, coconuts, weird and wonderful fruit and vegetables, sun hats, drinks - a never ending stream of things-to-buy come passing by. The market also features a shaded building open to the breeze where you can shop for souvenirs and have a cool drink.

After 45 minutes at the market we continue to the Rose Garden Country Resort.
A buffet lunch is arranged at the picturesque Rose Garden.
The Rose Garden has extensive landscaped gardens, a lake, several traditional Thai-style houses and a village. After lunch there is a Thai Village cultural show. The presentation gives you a good introduction to Thai life with a Buddhist monk ordination ceremony, a wedding, folk dances, martial arts and Thai boxing demonstrations. Local village handicraft will be on display, and can be purchased from various shops. The return transfer to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Ayutthaya World Heritage City

Visit the ancient capital of Siam for 417 years. Today, Ayutthaya is a World Heritage Site and has some of Thailand’s most important historical landmarks.

Located 80 kms north of Bangkok, the province is rich in ruins of once magnificent palaces, temples and fortresses. We also visit Bang Pa-In, the summer residence of the early Chakri Kings. King Rama V spent a great deal of time here and built a collection of objects d’art. The royal summer palace of King Rama V consists of buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Chinese and Thai architecture. King Prasad Thong originally built the royal palace as a temple, and later monarchs added their own palaces according to their preferences. Cruising back to Bangkok with a buffet lunch served onboard the modern river cruiser.

Train to Mahachai, Benjarong Village and Rose Garden

Train Adventure to the Rose Garden Country Resort

Transfer from hotel to Wongwian Yai Railway Station in Thonburi province, on the opposite side of the Chao Phraya River to the city. The station is situated in the middle of the Wongwian Yai market and offers a great experience and insight into local Thai lifestyle.

Board open-air carriages and take the train to Mahachai.

The train journey winds its way through the back streets of old Krung Thonburi, passing by a variety of scenery - garment factories then out to the open plains with rice fields and marshlands. The one-hour train journey ends at Mahachai Station, near the docks at the mouth of the Ta Chine River. As you exit the train you walk into an open-air market - the largest fresh seafood market in Thailand. A weird and wonderful variety of dried and preserved foods as well as fresh fruits and vegetables are sold here. Just walking past the stalls will take more than one hour. Shopping for fresh goods and exotic delicacies is an adventure in bargain hunting. Deciding what NOT to buy may be the toughest part of this experience.

Depart the market by coach and transfer to Krathumban, home to skilled ceramic artists. Here you will find Thailand’s famous five-coloured ceramic, Benjarong, The hand-painted ceramics are crafted to very specific designs.  Around midday we arrive at the Rose Garden Country Resort for a buffet lunch. After lunch there is a Thai Village cultural show. The presentation gives you a good introduction to Thai life with a Buddhist monk ordination ceremony, a wedding, folk dances, martial arts and Thai boxing demonstrations. Local village handicraft will be on display, and can be purchased from various shops. There’s also an opportunity to ride an elephant.

The return transfer to your hotel in the late afternoon is by motorcoach.
