PRESS RELEASE
Join Leading experts on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s
and other related diseases in Prague
Geneva, Switzerland (December 15, 2008) — Over 2,500 professionals from Western and Eastern Europe, the Far East, Middle East, North and South America, and Australia, are expected to attend AD/PD 2009 ─ the fastest growing congress on Alzheimer’s (AD) and Parkinson’s diseases (PD). This premier, landmark biennial conference will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, March 11-15, 2009.
According to Abraham Fisher, Israel Hanin, Roger M. Nitsch, and Manfred Windisch, the congress organizing committee, “the key importance and exclusivity of this AD/PD conference is that it deals with two, distinct neurodegenerative conditions in one setting and examines the integration between the two. This guarantees a diverse, multi-disciplinary, and highly informative scientific program. Furthermore, the high caliber of the scientific program and overall content of the 2009 conference makes it a landmark event.”
AD/PD 2009 has a special focus on investigators at the beginning of their careers presenting several of them with awards and offering all exceptional networking opportunities. All accepted abstracts will be published online as a supplement to the Neurodegenerative Diseases Journal (NDD) published by S. Karger AG.
The conference covers over 48 topics related to AD/PD and neurodegenerative
diseases, features presentations by over 125 worldwide leading scientists and expert clinicians from 28 countries, oral presentations, poster sessions, and sponsored meetings by leading pharmaceutical, biotech and start-up companies presenting the latest research, treatments, drug discoveries and late breaking results.
Program highlights include the latest on the diagnosis, prevention, and genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, as well as animal models, neuroimaging, and experimental and established treatment and disease modifying strategies. Special attention will be given to non-cognitive aspects of AD, PD dementia, atypical PD, non-motor symptoms in PD, minimal cognitive impairment, Age-Associated Memory Impairment, Vascular dementia and many others.
