Short communications are provided by invited speakers at the Conference, which summarize their talks, or amplify on the subject matter of their presentations, in the form of minireviews. These manuscripts are subjected to peer review, according to the standard policies of "Neurodegenerative Diseases". Once the authors have received their reviews and have modified their manuscripts accordingly, and have been approved following editorial examination, the manuscripts are accepted for publication in a special issue of "Neurodegenerative Diseases", which is dedicated to the proceedings of the AD/PD Conference from which these manuscripts originated. The Editors have attempted to complete the special issue as soon as possible subsequent to the AD/PD Conference, and continuously strive for shorter publication delays. In the interim, manuscripts that have been accepted for publication are immediately placed on the Journal's website, thus allowing authors to report a publication date earlier than that of the actual printing and distribution of each special issue. Since 2007, "Neurodegenerative Diseases" has been the official journal for publication of the AD/PD Proceedings.
