8th World Stroke Congress   World Stroke Organization   World Stroke Day

8th World Stroke Congress: The 8th World Stroke Congress will provide leading medical professionals with the opportunity to discuss all aspects of stroke and to discover late-breaking research from world experts.

Through its biennial congresses, the World Stroke Organization (WSO) strives to offer participants opportunities to refine their skills and knowledge in the field of stroke, as well as providing excellent networking opportunities and strengthening scientific collaborations to improve the care of stroke victims throughout the world.

WSO also encourages Young Professionals through providing scholarships and travel bursaries for students. Scientific topics focus on stroke prevention, management and rehabilitation.

The World Stroke Organization (WSO) was established in October 2006 through the merger of the International Stroke Society (ISS) and the World Stroke Federation (WSF), the two leading organizations representing stroke globally. The mission of WSO is to provide access to stroke care and to promote research and teaching in this area that will subsequently improve the care of stroke victims throughout the world.

The WSO biennial Congress attracts up to 2400 participants and WSO also endorses national and regional stroke conferences worldwide. Join now! Click here.

Saturday, October 29, 2011, is World Stroke Day

Join the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and its members across the globe in putting the fight against stroke on the national, regional and global agenda and stop millions of unnecessary deaths every year. 1 in 6 people will have a stroke in their lifetime and every 6 seconds someone somewhere will die from a stroke.

WSO is calling for urgent action to raise awareness about the fight against stroke by commemorating World Stroke Day on October 29. For more information on how you can get involved, visit www.worldstrokecampaign.org.
