Travel
By Rail
Brighton’s rail station is only a 10 minute walk from the Brighton Metropole. Train services to and from London Victoria are fast and frequent with Southern’s 49 minute service. Thameslink trains also connect Brighton to London King’s Cross and Bedford and there are direct Intercity trains to Birmingham, Manchester, Scotland and Wales. By road
Brighton had good road access,. north of the town, the A23 connects to the M23/M25 motorway and East-West directions are served by the A27. Click Here to view a road map.
By Air
London Gatwick Airport is the most convenient airport to travel from, as it is just 28 miles from Brighton. It takes an average of 30 minutes by taxi to travel to Brighton via the M23/A23.

London Heathrow Aiport is 66 miles from Brighton via the M25 and M23, taking an average of 90 minutes by taxi. The coach service is the easiest way to get from Heathrow to Brighton city centre by public transport and takes approximately 2 hours, traffic depending. Heathrow central bus station is between Terminals 1, 2 and 3, a few minutes' walk from the terminals via underground walkways. The bus station is open 24 hours a day, and the travel centre opens from 06:00 to 22:30. Coaches also call at Terminals 4 and 5, a short walk from check-in and arrivals. Train services run indirectly to Brighton and take approximately 2 hours 10 mins, departing around every 15 Minutes. You can either travel via the London Underground on the Picadilly line from London Heathrow to Central London, or take the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington. You will then need to travel to London Victoria to take the train to Brighton from there.
