The Congress is registered with the DIAC
The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship has a dedicated International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) that assists event organisers by providing free advice on Australian visas for their event participants. The following advice has been provided by the IECN in relation to the International Congress of Pediatrics 2013:
All visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia. Various processes are available depending on your nationality, purpose of travel and eligibility: For information on visa options to attend the International Congress of Pediatrics 2013, please go to: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/_pdf/general-events.pdf.
It is strongly recommend that delegates lodge their visa applications well in advance of their intended date of travel to Australia. Delegates who are eligible to lodge online applications should apply for their visa at least 2 weeks before their intended date of travel and delegates who need to lodge paper-based applications should apply for their visa at least 6 to 8 weeks before their intended date of travel. Delegates are responsible for ensuring that they lodge their visa applications within the recommended timeframes. Further information for event participants is available at: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/event-organisers-participants/participants.htm
