Certified ESRA Diploma on Regional Anaesthesia 

CERTIFIED ESRA DIPLOMA ON REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA

ESRA EUROPEAN DIPLOMA IN REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA & PAIN THERAPY
The ESRA European Diploma Examinations Parts I and II take place each year at the ESRA annual meeting. The diploma examinations 2011 will take place at the 30th ESRA Congress in Dresden, Germany

The registration fees to both exams cost €100 (€50/retake).

PRE-REQUISITES FOR ATTENDANCE
Please note that the following pre-requisites are mandatory in order to take the first part of the examination (written exam). All applications must be validated by the ESRA European Diploma Board (EDB).
1. The applicant must be in an official program to become an anaesthesiologist for a minimum of 2 years.
2. The applicant must have followed a minimum of 1 workshop/course recognized by the ERA diploma board in the time frame of 3 years prior to the time of application.
3. The applicant must be an ESRA member.
4. Once accepted, the applicant will have to purchase a registration to the ESRA annual congress in order to finalize his/her application. The part II must be taken within 3 years after a successful part I exam upon condition to meet all pre-requisites as listed on our website. HOW IT WORKS

Two years exam Part I - Written Exam
When? Wednesday, Sept. 7th 2011
Where? 30th Annual ESRA Congress, Maritim Hotel & International Congress Center, Dresden/Germany
What? 100 Multiple Choice Questions, 2 hours examination
Topics: anatomy, pharmacology, physiology and physiopathology, statistics, central blocks, peripheral blocks, obstetric regional anaesthesia, paediatric regional anaesthesia, acute and chronic pain, material e.g. basic knowledge of the use of a nerve stimulator, ultrasound.
Part II - Practical Exam (only after passing the written exam)
20-25 minutes examination on Simulator and/or Models
When? Tuesday, Sept. 6th, 2011

WHAT IF YOU FAIL? Unsuccessful participants will be allowed to retake the failed exam at the next ESRA annual meeting.
