• A day in Blankenese, a former independent town, now a suburban quarter in the western part of Hamburg. It is situated right on the bank of the Elbe River. Learn about the history of the steep hillside residences and tiny, pedestrian-only streets – enjoy a walk along the river and a rest in one of the many cafes and restaurants.
  
  
• “Altes Land” and Stade: The “Altes Land” and is an area of reclaimed marshland embracing parts of Lower Saxony and Hamburg (www.tourismus-altesland.de/en_altesland_01.php). The region is located downstream from Hamburg and is famous for the fruits – especially apples – grown there. Stade is an idyllic historic town in Lower Saxony, part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region (www.stade-tourismus.de/en/). Especially with sunny weather, this is a wonderful day tour.
